RBA Season Recap

RBA CUP way to gold

The very first big season for the RedBeard Association is behind us, and it is time to stop for a moment, look back, and thank everyone who was part of it.

Over the course of the season, we organized 15 events, attended by roughly 350 players in total. Games were played across Moravia — in Brno, Hodonín, Olomouc, and Boskovice — and we are truly happy that we continue to connect players from different cities, clubs, and gaming communities.

Throughout the season, we organized tournaments for Warhammer 40,000, Warcry, and Spearhead. From larger competitive events to smaller community tournaments, our goal was to create an environment where both experienced players and newcomers to wargaming can find their place.

Another major step forward for us was improving the gaming infrastructure. During the season, we managed to equip three gaming venues with competitive WTC terrain, including gaming mats. Thanks to this, players in our region now have better conditions for training, tournament preparation, and regular games using high-quality, standardized equipment.

One of the biggest achievements of the season was the RB Challenge series, which was never meant to be just another tournament circuit. Its goal was to give new players space to grow, help them gain experience, and gradually build a team capable of attending a major international event. And that is exactly what happened.

From the RB Challenge series, we formed a team of newcomers — Redbeards Omega — who represented Czech wargaming under the RBA banner at Alpine Con 2026. They were joined at Alpine Con by our main team, Redbeards Alpha, and the Moravian WTC representation, Moravian Eagles.

And because this season clearly proved that “one more team can always somehow be put together,” we also managed, as a bonus, to assemble a substitute team called PlanC, which also took part in Alpine Con 2026.

That means we had four teams at the biggest event in our region, representing RBA and Moravian wargaming as a whole. For us, this is a huge milestone and proof that consistent work with the community, new players, and the tournament scene truly matters.

For RBA, this season was not only about numbers, even though we are proud of them. It was mainly about people. About players who came to events, helped create the atmosphere, brought in new faces, played fair, had fun, and showed that the wargaming community in Moravia has enormous strength.

A huge thank you goes to all players, organizers, helpers, clubs, partners, and venues that made these events possible. None of this would have happened without you.

This RBA season showed that building a community matters, that organizing events outside the traditional centers is worth it, and that different game systems all deserve their space. It also showed that when passion, hard work, and the willingness to pull together meet, local tournaments can grow into something with an impact across the whole region.

Thank you all for your support, attendance, and energy.

RBA keeps moving forward — and the next season will be even bigger.
